Nutvember 2022

from me

A year ago I created the Nutvember kitbashing set of nuts and bolts to… celebrate(?) No Nut November (NNN). Also known as Movember it was something I’d been casually familiar with and I wanted to change that.

Read some papers, some very old and others recent. Masturbation is what I read the most on because I wanted to find conversations on the act that weren’t focused on the psycho-sexual parts explored by the Freuds or the Kinseys. It ultimately came down to education, conventional and/or specifically sex.

Thank you to everyone who’s purchased it and I hope to add more value to it every year - starting with:

2022 six (6) new designs to play with. You can purchase the updated set ($5.50) using any of the links below:

Aside from work the month was meh. Also tired.

for you

assorted cookie cutters

Saw some postings on Upwork (or is it Talent now..?) for cookie cutter designs and thought of making some demos for the portfolio. Tried a different method compared to the soap dish - remeshed & decimated (both modifiers in blender) vs building the cutters using quads from the start. topology doesn’t seem to affect the final print if it’s fine enough.

Download them on Gumroad, Cults3D, or even on Printables

xmas ornaments

With the next post scheduled for after the main event I also started making some ornaments and and intend to add more. The topology here is a lot better than previous submissions - the file sizes speak to this.

STL files have been uploaded to Gumroad, Printables, Cults3D, or Thingiverse.

Getting into this more and more and taking feedback into account. Working on some new ornaments to add to theses for variety. A question I have from time to time revolves around the idea of Christmas in South Africa - it doesn’t snow round that time, so what would climate-appropriate ornaments look like then..?
